Martino Foschi, postdoctoral research associate and co-manager of the Shell Geoscience Laboratory, University of Oxford, said: “The fundamental questions faced in academic research require top-quality and reliable software designed to provide scientifically rigorous results. By familiarizing themselves with the capabilities of our sophisticated, yet easy-to-use, geophysical software, students will be able to gain a greater understanding and practical experience of seismic interpretation for oil and gas exploration.” Sophie Zurquiyah, Senior Executive Vice President, Geology, Geophysics & Reservoir, CGG, said: “The donation of our innovative Hampson-Russell software to the University of Oxford is in line with CGG’s long-term commitment to support and cooperate with institutes of higher learning around the world. Since 1987, donations of Hampson-Russell software have been used for research and training purposes, and more than 90 universities and colleges now participate worldwide.
